Q A What is mi-Facemask?
mi-FACEMASK is a reusable, washable, hygienic face mask for general everyday use. The technology within our masks is proven to reduce the growth of germs by up to 99.9%. It makes the mi-facemask the most hygienic reusable mask on the market.
Q A How do I know what size to choose?
As a basic guide, we recommend you measure your face ear to ear for the length - Marked A on the diagram below
Measure from the bridge of your nose to your chin/ jawline for the depth - Marked B on the diagram below
It will give you a good indication of what size mask to choose.
All masks come with adjustable earloops; this allows you to adjust the tightness of the mask around your ears and face making for a comfortable fit.
Q A How does the Anti Bacterial technology in your mask work?
The technology in our mi-facemask is built into all four layers of the mask. The technology inside the fibres has a built-in resistance against bacteria adhesion and proliferation. By preventing the adhesion of bacteria on the surface, bacteria run through their normal life cycle stages and naturally reach the death phase, usually within 3 to 4 hours. Not allowing the adhesion prevents a sufficient uptake of nutrients and prevents proliferation, quorum sensing, biofilm formation and exponential growth and cross-contamination.
Q A What is FFP2 or KN95 Filtration?
KN95 (China) FFP2 (UK & Europe) is the performance standard to which Filtering Half Facemasks are tested. Filtering facepiece respirators (FFR), which are sometimes called disposable respirators, are subject to various regulatory standards around the world. These standards specify specific required physical properties and performance characteristics in order for respirators to claim compliance with the particular standard. During pandemic or emergencies, health authorities often reference these standards when making respirator recommendations, stating, for example, that certain populations should use an “N95, FFP2, or similar” respirator.

However, before selecting a respirator, users should consult their local respiratory protection regulations and requirements or check with their local public health authorities for selection guidance.
The mi-Facemask has been tested and certified as a KN95 Filtration Half Facemask.
We are currently performing the FFP2 Testing and aim to be verified in July 2020.

Q A Can your masks be used for anti-pollution?
Yes, with the four-layer filtration system, our masks are perfect for anti-pollution and when commuting in big cities where there are crowds of people and pollution is much higher.
Q A What is the nose clip made from
The nose clip in our masks is made from an aluminium strip. It is used to provide a seal around the bridge of the nose and it can help reduce steaming up when wearing glasses.
Please note - It is advised once you have fitted the mask to your face to avoid folding and creasing the nose clip this can lead to the weakening of the nose clip and potential fracture.
Q A Can children use the mi-FACEMASK?
Yes, our small size masks are suitable for Children from Ages 4 and above. We are working on a range of Extra Small Masks with funky and engaging designs to make wearing a mask more enjoyable for your child. Our child-friendly design masks will be available from Late June 2020.
Q A Why can’t I use the mask for medical or FFP2 use?
At present, there is no recognised scientific method of sterilising a face mask used for Covid-19 without deformation or compromising performance.
We feel the performance, quality and technology in our masks would be wasted as a single-use mask. Our goal is to ease the burden on Health Services and Business worldwide by providing the general public and businesses with a high-quality, high-performance reusable face mask that can last up to 12months. It would ensure the much needed PPE / FFP2 Disposable Masks for the medical and health services are readily available.
It is also vital for us to point out that we are working hard to get our masks approved for reuse and still comply with the FFP2 / KN95 Testing. We hope to achieve this feat in the next three months, and this would open up the masks to be used and reused by the medical, health and construction industries.
Q A Where should I use a facemask?

UK Government has now made it compulsory to wear face masks or face coverings on public transport, visiting a hospital and also advised facemasks when in enclosed spaces or social distancing isn't possible and to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Q A How many times can I wash the mask?
As many times as you like. the anti-bacterial technology does not wear out.
Q A How do I wash the mask?
The same as you wash your clothes or uniforms. Simply place in the washing machine and wash. We recommend cleaning the mask at 60℃ wash cycle.
Q A How long does it last?
Forever. Or at the very least the lifetime of the product. The technology does not migrate from the facemask; therefore, it cannot wear out, no matter how many times you wash or wear the mask
Q A Is it safe?
Yes, 100%. The same element in our products is in vegetables, oysters, toothpaste and your everyday multivitamins. The technology is developed by an interdisciplinary team of scientists specialised in biomimicry, biochemistry, material science, advanced materials and polymerisation. The technology is unique as there are no toxic components involved. Ingredients used in the technology are Generally Recognised As Safe (GRAS), a component/ingredient of food or suitable for food contact application. There is no active mechanism; the effects are due to a modification/improvement of the materials mechanical/physical properties.
